What should I do before my appointment?

  • It is not necessary for you get your eyebrows waxed, threaded, or shaped before your appointment. Sophie will tweeze any hairs outside of the shape that have been mapped onto your brow area, and prefers that you let your eyebrows grow out for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.

  • Avoid tanning 2 weeks prior to your appointment. We cannot work on sunburned or peeling skin, and you will be turned away and forfeit your deposit. 

  • You must be off of antibiotics for 2 weeks before your appointment. If you are on antibiotics, email your artist at least 48 hours prior to your appointment to reschedule. In cases of long-term antibiotic use, please reach out to discuss before booking.

  • Avoid chemical peels, skin treatments, and laser therapies at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment, and 4 weeks after any cosmetic tattoo appointment (this includes all touch-ups).

  • All facials and skin treatments must be done 4 weeks prior to your appointment or 4 weeks after your appointment.

  • You can NOT get Botox or fillers 4 weeks prior to your appointment or 4 weeks after your appointment. If you show up for your appointment having had Botox within the 4 weeks before your appointment, your deposit will be forfeited.

  • You MUST stop using Retinol 2 weeks prior to your appointment and wait 4 weeks after. If this is your first session, you should not use Retinol or similar products until 4 weeks after your touch-up session.

  • Avoid alcohol, ibuprofen, or any medication that thins the blood 48 hours prior to your appointment.

  • Please bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment, and arrive with your brows drawn in how you normally wear them. If you don’t normally do anything to your eyebrows, just arrive as you are :)

    Tip: If you are feeling anxious about your appointment, avoid caffeine the morning of. Make sure that you are well-fed and hydrated, as dehydration and low blood sugar can make the experience more intense.
