Immediately After Your Appointment:
In the hours following your appointment, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and more sharply defined. This will last 3-5 days before the tattoo starts flaking off. Do not panic! This is normal.
Swelling and redness is minimal with most clients, and will disappear within 24-72 hours,
Your brows may appear to be uneven during the first week of healing. This can happen as one side or section can be being further along in the healing process than the other. It will go away. This is a normal part of the healing process. Do not panic!
The treated area may feel a bit like a sunburn, but there should only be minimal discomfort for the first 2-4 days.
You may shower or bathe normally, but avoid using any soaps, cleansers, and makeup on the treated area for the first 2 weeks as these products can be detrimental to the healing process of pigment in skin.
Do your best to avoid touching your eyebrows. If it is necessarly for you to touch your eyebrows during the first 2 weeks, always wash your hands thoroughly with soap before touching the tattooed area.
Don’t let other people touch your eyebrows during the first 2 weeks of healing. Don’t let your pets lick or rub against your face for the first 2 weeks. Infection is extremely rare, but precautions must be taken!
Aftercare Instructions:
Use the provided sterile water wipes, morning and night, for the first 5 days. For days 6-14, use a paper towel with lukewarm water morning and night to clean your eyebrows.
Use a rice grain-sized amount of the provided aftercare cream with a fresh cotton swab, ONLY if your eyebrows get flakey or itchy. Using too much of this cream can interfere with healing, but a tiny bit will provide you with a protective barrier and soothe the healing skin.
You must avoid sweat-dripping exercise for 5-7 days following your cosmetic tattoo appointment. Light exercising is allowed (no sweating), but you MUST clean the tattooed area with lukewarm water as soon as you are done exercising.
Avoid direct sun exposure for the first 3 weeks. If you are in the sun long enough to get a sunburn during this time, wear a hat. Sun exposure can cause the pigment to heal darker than intended.
Do NOT let lake, river, or pool water get in your brows during the first 2 weeks. Water from the shower is okay, but you do not want shampoo or conditioner running down into your freshly tattooed eyebrows.
Do NOT pick or scratch at the brow tattoo; let the skin fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment.
Do NOT apply make-up to the tattooed area for the first 2 weeks.
Once the tattoo has flaked off, a new layer of healing skin will completely cover the tattooed area. It may appear as though your tattoo is gone! Within 4-6 weeks, the tattooed skin will slowly reappear as the deeper tattooed skin rises to the surface.
The complete healing process takes 6-8 weeks, at which time the final results of the tattoo are visible. You’ll need to wait at least 6 weeks to see the true color. Please remember that your brows will lighten up anywhere from 30-50%. It is expected to need a touch-up to perfect the shape.
Once Healed:
Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment. Once completely healed, you may apply sunscreen on the treated area.
Rinse and dry the area thoroughly after your brows are in contact with chlorine or salt water.
Glycolic Acid, Retinol, face peels, oils, and exfoliation must be kept away from the tattooed area as continued use could lighten the pigment.
